When I got hired to do this photo shoot I was so excited! It was seriously so much fun! I love my job. It was a good deal too. We traded a photo shoot for a dog sitter for a month! I won on that deal. This is also a memorable photo shoot because it was the last one I did shooting on automatic. After this one I decided to learn my manual settings on my camera. It was a big moment for me! I know it seems silly but making that switch was always something that intimidated me. Learning how to shoot on manual was way easier than I thought it would be thanks to this blog http://jakesmag.com/2011/08/lets-talk-about-exposure/. I'm still trying to perfect it but I love what my photography has become since this photoshoot. I feel like I love this one too despite the use of Automatic :)

Phew! I've got some catching up to do!! We'll start with the "Y" family. I did their photoshoot in October before I left. We only had this one day to do their family shoot and it was raining! We decided to try and make the best of it and eventually found this gazebo. This was early on in my quest to learn how to shoot on a manual setting and the lighting was terrible because of the rain.

Yesterday I was able to photograph this adorable little boy. He is so cute and so fun. My daughter calls him her "buddy" it's too bad that they won't be able to grow up around each other because they are so cute together. I will totally add him to her list of sutors hopefully his mom doesn't mind :)

Fun photo project!

Anyone can play along! I've had a lot of fun with it so far. I only started doing the project on the second week the themes were "togetherness" or "Metal" I picked togetherness because the first thing that comes to mind when I here that word is Sadie with our dog Missy. They are bestee's for life. Everytime Sadie cries in her room Missy runs to her door and starts scratching like crazy. I let her in and they say goodmorning with a slobery kiss through the bars of her crib. The rest of the day is spent following each other around, stealing each others food, and lots and lots of hugs and kisses.

Walker Photoshoot!

Today I finally finished editing the photos from a session I did two Saturdays ago. I say finally because it's always my goal to get my photos done in 1 week. This last week was a fight to get any time in. I was battling sickness, a very needy baby, fatigue from being pregnant, and my 2 year anniversary was this weekend. Regardless, I loved this photoshoot the family was awesome so I had a ton of great photos to work with. The kids were great. It was freezing outside but they were such good sports. Their Mom had them very well trained in the art of posing for pictures. They were perfect little models for me. We had a great time at the museum. We were the only ones there so they let us use the artifacts as props! I felt like we were VIP's or something. They even let the kids sit in a classic car that they had displayed. It was a great day!

Here are some examples of the work I put into editing. One image can take an hour or more! When you hire me I give you a CD with 10 of these super edited photos along with 25$ credit toward prints. Only 100$ for the whole photo shoot! Not bad right?

5 day old "Baby K"

I was so lucky to be able to photograph this darling baby. I learned so much from this Newborn shoot.

1st If the baby is crying, let him eat.

2nd Don't try posing the baby on his belly until he is fast asleep. (We tried this while he was awake and hungry, didn't work AT ALL)

3rd Set up on the floor. Using a table worked well for lighting but I had a really hard time relaxing because I was too worried about him arching his back and falling onto the floor.

4th I really need to invest in more lighting equipment...Hope its not expensive...

5th Eat before hand and bring snacks! It can take a while.

Sorry about my slowness of posting more photos.

I just got photoshop and it's a LOT more complicated than I thought that it would be.

On the Plus side my photography has gotten a thousand times better so it makes up for it!

There's so much that I can do now and I LOVE IT.

This photo shoot was a little tricky because I only had about 30 minutes to get it done. Luckily I had such a pretty little girl as my subject. I loved all of her faces that she pulled!

Way back in July I had the opportunity to do a photo shoot with this adorable baby. It was honestly the funnest photo shoot that I've done so far. Hopefully someday I'll get to do more photo's of this pretty little girl.
